The latest fundraising event to support our campaign to attempt to get NG and policy makers to choose another option, i.e other than pylons (i.e underground or subsea) is the
Somerset Gurgle .The Gurgle, which is an
old tradition (pre wassailing) where the first seasons crop of apples was celerbrated. The orgins of the Gurgle are slightly vague as it did not gain the following that the wassailing did, but it is more parochial to our location. The
Somerset Levels were assisted by the
Dutch engineers to drain the area and they celebrated the local harvest each year by the Gurgle.
